It was like one of those bad 80's movies.
You know the ones where there's a huge inheritance waiting in the wings, but the protagonist just doesn't have the guts to pull the plug to get it. So it's marginally alive for the sake of "feeling better" but the main goal is to get rich and have the sucker die. |

See, this is where anyone having the ability to have their own server comes in.
If one group dies or fails or just sucks, the community can move on to the next thing. |

RE: Closed MMOs article (includes MXO and Walrus interview)
How bout this....
a while ago, i read this interview with the man upstairs from WB interactive.. who made a remark about the matrix online wich got me upset and sent an email to WB interactive, about what the guy said.. in the following email: Comment on article interview with martin tremblay.. I normally don't react to these kind of articles.. but what i read in this interview made me very angry. i quote: " We bought monolith for The Matrix Online massively multiplayer online game. It was an early move into those games. That game didn't work out well. " Did not work out well? What kind of insult is that? It worked just fine, untill you WB interactive folks, and Sony online entertainment, screwed it. Tell that to the matrix community, that spend 180 dollars a year for this game for years... They loved it and still do, because there isn't anything on the market like it, not to mention the only game with Live event content, in wich the player had influence on the storyline. This game has been underrated, by many, but to see the head of WB interactive stating such remark is an insult to everyone who played the matrix online, and love the matrix franchise of it in any form. Well.. mister tremblay, then i hold you responsable for your actions, along with SOE in this, and your lack of professionalism in your line of work, and the decissions made, that had a nasty aftertaste for everybody in the community. Thanks for ripping us off. greets Mark i got a standard reaction to this email, stating if i needed to ventilate, i could call a number. Yeah right... |

I find Martin's comment mildly irritating, but this quote is a fuckin insult. You write to complain about the business of a game and they give you a sorry video game addiction canned response. I've gotten better canned responses from politicians. |
